Nothing gives the impression of a princess more than jewels, and when the premier crafter of jewelry like Cartier is involved, you are bound to be dazzled beyond your wildest dreams. As Grace Kelly, she shined like a star, but add some crown jewels and she becomes Princess Grace of Monaco.
Cartier: the King of Jewelers and Jeweler to Kings
Cartier Secrets is a video series that explores the wonders of Cartier in conjunction with the very first grand exhibit of this Millennium. Cartier: Style and History is touted as Cartier’s most remarkable exhibition yet, displaying many fantastic pieces from royalty, celebrities, and of course a special section dedicated to Princess Grace.
The exhibition explores Cartier’s role in the history of style and decorative arts, from the founding of the Maison in 1847 to the mid-1970s, Featured are more than 600 extraordinary pieces, presented side-by-side for the first time, and complemented by more than 300 documents from the Cartier archives: notebooks, drawings, order books, inventories, plaster casts, autochromes and photographs that provide insight into the jeweler’s creative process.
Most of the pieces belong to the Cartier Collection, or have been loaned by private parties, institutions and museum collections from France and around the world. Together, these pieces are a testament to the rich and intricate history of the Jeweler to Kings and the King of Jewelers. Around 20 pieces in the exhibit are taken directly from the collection of the royal family of Monaco, allowing visitors an intimate look into Princess Grace of Monaco’s jewelry box.
If you can’t get real Cartier jewelry for Valentine’s or any special occasion, and if you did not make it to Paris to see the real Cartier Exhibition, you can still marvel all the beauty in this timeless YouTube video series anytime (as long as they don’t make it private – otherwise enjoy this).
In 2015, Cartier brought an exhibit to Denver USA.
